What We Do

Family Violence Prevention Program: (FVPP) The licensed domestic Violence Program for Ohio, Marshall and Wetzel Counties offering direct supportive services. *24 hour crisis hotline *Emergency Safe Shelter *Court Advocacy-Criminal and Civil *Support Groups *Monitored parent-child visitation/exchange *Teen Dating Violence Prevention programming in John Marshall and Wheeling Park High Schools *employability programming *FOCUS-anger management group for women *Batterer's intervention and prevention programming *Transitional Housing *911 cell phones *safety planning *Children support group

Residence and Emergency Homeless shelter for single women between 18 and 72 in a community style facility.

"Y" Not Repeat Boutique: Offers gently used professional clothing to women changing jobs, sizes or freshening their wardrobe. The community donated clothes are sorted and hung by volunteers. With a referral from any social service agency, church or employer women may come and shop for up to 5 outfits free quarterly or pick our and purchase a bag of clothes for $5.00.

Cultural Diversity and Community Outreach Program (CDCO) works with the community to eliminate racism, embrace diversity and build cultural competence. In collaboration with the City of Wheeling the Arts and Culture Festival in June. Hosts the YWCA Martin Luther King Jr. Project on Racism Essay Contest with all school aged children across the State of WV. Hosts the YWCA Stand Against Racism.

Women Inspired in New Directions: (WIND) is a non-treatment recovery home for women with the support of a recovery coach and house technicians to aid in the recovery process. After 6 months of reputed recovery transitional housing is offered to women and children for up to an additional 18 months.
